The National Technical Center of Sun Paper was founded in 1999 and certified as a provincial-level enterprise technology center in 2007 and a national enterprise technology center in 2010. It spans across a construction area of 6,000m2, owns a lot of advanced imported R&D and testing apparatus and equipment, is divided into the Biomass Materials R&D Center, the Pulp R&D Center, the Household Paper R&D Center, and the Packaging Paper R&D Center, and has seen its research and innovation capabilities much enhanced. Through independent R&D, cooperation with businesses, universities and research institutes and joint training programs, the National Technical Center of Sun Paper has been active in commercializing research results and led Sun Paper to the fast lane of sound development.
In recent years, Sun Paper has done a remarkable job in independent innovation, introducing, absorbing advanced technologies to make innovations, and cooperating with other businesses, universities and research institutes. It has won a dozen of national, ministerial and provincial S&T awards. In particular, its “medium- and high-concentration pulp cleaning and bleaching technology” won the 2nd Prize of the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2010 and the “key enzymatic technology for pulp and paper making with fast-growing hardwood and its application” won the 2nd Prize of the National Award for Technological Invention. Sun Paper has built and improved its patent management measures and incentive system, owns 246 authorized invention patents and over 50 patents of utility model. It has presided over and participated in the formulation and revision of 14 national standards. Several of its technologies are accredited to be world leading and advanced.
